How to Empty a Greek Bistro on your First Night in Athens

Step 1: Spend a whole month in India. This should weaken your system enough for you to become host to entirely new and exotic fauna/flora. don't, however, become so weak that you can't get to Greece in one piece.

Step 2: Find a decent-looking Bistro. Pick one that is neither too fancy, nor too grungy, as making a mess in a hole in the wall is pointless, and making one (although really funny) in a fancy joint creates more trouble for you than is worthwhile. The above observations also apply to the clientele (make sure there are patrons or the whole exercise becomes shot).

Step 3: Order something simple. I ordered a Greek salad. Take a nibble and then bolt inside asking for the washroom. The language barrier encountered here should garantee that you won't find it and will have to bolt back outside.

Step 4: Pick a corner, in full view of the other patrons and become violently ill.

Speaking from experience, this is a surefire way to make people disappear. When I lifted my head after I was done, everyone had gone.

Get well real soon! I'd say from the pictures that you could put on a few pounds and for that, you need to keep your food!

On a lighter note, NAGRO the National Association of Greek Restaurant Owners, also wants you to get well very soon, you're scaring business away.

If the situation hasn't improved by today, there's some very efficient over-the-counter medication at the neighbourhood drugstore (φαρμακείο)

Get well, the both of you, and enjoy reece!

I'm feeling better already. We both aren't feeling 100% quite yet, but we decided that expeciencing Greece through our hotel room window wasn't great, so we visited the Acropolis. We're also on the hunt for a hotel room for our final night in Athens... although this is the "low" season, the place is packed solid.

And yeah, it could have been worse, but not much worse.

My apologies to NAGRO
