Elise and I were just coming out of the local FNAC (a kind of HMV) when we came up on a crowd huddled around a guy speaking really loud in Spanish. Luckily for me, he had an interpreter who translated everything he said into English. "Stop being GAY" he said... "Accept Jesus and let him forgive you because you need his forgiveness"... "We need you God"... and so on. Shit: street preachers. Judging by the accent, they were American preachers. A though crossed my mind at that moment: what good is there in preaching to the population of a country that is 94% CATHOLIC??? I suppose they just don´t believe in the right fashion. Damn papists... It was a bit sad, really. Hearing the words "Stop being Gay" coming out of the mouth of someone who obviously was, but was repressing his own nature in the name of religion... just sad.
I left before they started to hand out the flyers... No point in justifying my atheism to these fools.

And you just walked away?? I would have thought that this was your perfect opportunity for face-to-face debate (the best kind). It would have been like shooting fish in a barrel. I think you're getting old.
The trouble is that these fish don't even realize they've been shot and are floating unconscious at the surface.
